BSC Player Divisions
Players are divided according to the age that they
are in the calendar year that they are playing. As well,
boys and girls have separate divisions after the age
of 5.
The Divisions are generally the same each year, with
minor changes occurring when final registration has
been completed and the total number of players for each
division can be determined. Any changes depend on the
number of boys/girls registered for each age group.
The Number of teams must be an even number to facilitate
the scheduling of games and fields.

Team Rosters
Each Division is divided into teams. The number of
teams depends on the total number of kids playing in
that Division (or how many kids of that age group registered
to play) keeping in mind that we need an even number
of teams.
How do we select teams?
The Coach rates each player at the end of the season.
The rating system looks at the individual’s performance
over the entire summer and the coach selects either
an ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’
as is appropriate. The following year, these ratings
for the players are used to ensure that no one team
is tremendously better, or worse, than any other.
For example, in the Girls Under 9 Division, teams may
be comprised of 3 ‘A’ players, 6 ‘B’
players and 4 ‘C’ players. Each team in
that Division would be comprised of the same numbers
of ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’
rated players. Only in this way can the teams be competitive
and equal.
