Club
History
Bradford
Soccer Club (BSC) was incorporated in 1987.
Soccer was played in and around Bradford before then,
but an association was formed to provide scheduled
soccer in the area.
In
it’s inaugural year, there were 70 children
that formed 3 mite teams
(what are referred to today as under 5’s).
Cones were used for marking off nets, t-shirts were
provided
for uniforms and the field available for use was behind
Bradford District High School.
There
was one older boys team that played in the Huronia
District
and in 1989 the first Under 13 girls team played in
Stouffville.
In
1989, Mini Fields were opened at the Old Arena (Reeves).
The opening celebration tournament was televised on
Rogers T.V.
and as they say, “the rest is history”.
From
humble beginnings, hard work and dreams of organized
soccer for everyone who wants to play,
BSC has grown to watching over 1200 “kids”
enjoy the sport of soccer in Bradford every year! |
