ZERO TOLERANCE
POLICY
Bradford Soccer Club is
a strong supporter of making
sport safe for our youth.
We support fun, and enthusiasm while teaching
the game and respect for
all others involved in the sport. Over the last
couple of years, verbal abuse
directed towards referees has been a particular
problem.
Accordingly, Bradford Minor Soccer has set up
the following program to
help ensure the safety and enjoyment of all.
|
|
POLICY
Any coach, player, parent,
grandparent or guardian, or referee, judged by the BSC
to be guilty of demeaning or abusive conduct towards
anyone at a BSC game will be reprimanded in writing,
and may result in the member being restricted from any
services rendered by the Club including attendance at
all soccer activities within the Club. In such cases,
as determined by the Discipline Board, a member may
be reinstated, upon request after being subject to a
review hearing.
HARASSMENT POLICY
Bradford Soccer Club will
abide by the Harassment Policy of The OSA.
In the event someone in
the Club wishes to lodge a harassment complaint
such shall be submitted in writing to the BSC as set
out by the board.
The Harassment policy is
available through the Club.
DEFINITION OF HARASSMENT
Harassment is defined as
a comment, conduct, or gesture directed toward an individual
or group of individuals which is insulting, intimidating,
humiliating, malicious,
degrading or offensive. DEFINITION
OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Sexual Harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances,
requests for sexual favours,
or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature
when it ought to be reasonably known
to be unwelcome.
SCREENING POLICY
Bradford Soccer Club
accepts their responsibility to children, young adults,
parents, volunteers
and staff involved in its programs and is committed
to ensuring adherence to the following
policy to support the provision of sound, safe, and
healthy soccer experiences in our community.
Due to the positions
of trust that are inherent in the provision of active,
high quality sport activities, volunteers and employees
shall be required to undergo a screening process based
on the duties assigned by the Club. This screening
process will be comprised of a variety of measures
and may include a Police Reference Check. All volunteers/employees
will be required to participate in an orientation
that will introduce duty assignments as well as relevant
Club policies and expectations.
The volunteer screening will only be viewed by the
screening officer(s) as defined by the executive and
will remain confidential. They will be used in accordance
with the guidelines set out by the Ontario Soccer
Association.
COMPLAINT PROCEDURE
In accordance with the
Bradford Soccer Club policies in regards to ZERO TOLERANCE
and HARASSMENT it is incumbent upon the association
to provide a system whereby complaints
can be dealt with in an appropriate and timely fashion.
As a result, the BMSA has now appointed members of
the executive to deal with these matters.
If at any time any member,
including a coach, player, parent, grandparent, guardian
or referee believes that anyone else has contravened
any policies as outlined, and feel that they are unable
to confront the parties involved, they may now make
a formal complaint to the BSC executive.
These complaints will then be investigated, and if
deemed to be factual and have merit,
appropriate actions will be taken and reported back
to the complainant.
A complaint form has been developed
and is available on our web site or at the BSC office.
